BREWING
The art of brewing tea is an ancient and beautiful ritual found all around the world. From its origins in China to its expanse across the globe, each country has its own unique methods of brewing. Today, to experience the joys of tea drinking, all you need to do is pop the kettle on, choose a flavour and gently soak a Tealia blend for instant gratification.

BLACK TEA
So you’re going back to basics with a classic cup of black tea. With temperature, you’ll need your water as hot as it comes, preferably straight off the boil. Soak your Tealia pyramid bag (or 2g of loose leaf) in your cup for about 3 to 5 minutes, depending on how you prefer the strength. Patience is key. Researchers have found that the ideal time to drink your tea is when it cools to about 60°C (140°F). Add sugar, honey and milk as you please. Enjoy!

Green Tea
GREEN TEA
With green tea, the temperature of the water is quite important. If the water is too hot it will scorch the tealeaves and leave you with a bitter cup. If it is too cool on the other hand, the full flavour of the tealeaves will go untapped. For the perfect balance, we advise you heat your brew between 60°C - 84°C (140°F – 184°F). This is easy to achieve is you let your boiling water cool for a couple minutes before you start to brew your tea. Unlike black tea, green tea doesn’t need too long to steep, between 1 to 3 minutes is sufficient. Please note the longer the brew the more bitter the cup. If you have a sweet tooth, a little honey might please your pallet, as it compliments the flavour beautifully.

HERBAL TEA
With herbal tea, you really want to use water that hasn’t been chlorinated, bottled water works best. Choose your Tealia herbal blend and place one teabag, or 2 to 3g of loose leaf, in your cup. Pour hot water that is right off the boil over the tealeaves and immediately cover your cup with a lid, or plate, to catch as much flavour as possible. You’ll really taste the difference in intensity. Leave to sit for about 5 to 8 minutes, depending on your preferred intensity. Now, many people enjoy their herbal tea just how it is, but if you want a little variety, try adding to it to match the blend. Try lemon, a cinnamon stick, a mint sprig, sugar or honey. Personalise your cup and most importantly enjoy every sip!

Iced Tea
ICED TEA
Any one of Tealia’s brews can be used to make create a refreshing glass of iced tea. There are no wrong recipes but here are a few tips. When drinking tea cold, you may lose some of the flavour, so make sure to use enough teabags, about 2 bags to every 3 cups of water. You shouldn’t let the tea steep for too long or it will become bitter, if you want it stronger just add more tea. If you want to sweeten your tea, be sure to add the sugar to the warm tea before pouring over ice. Otherwise, you’ll have to use sugar syrup to mix in the cold tea. Serve with fresh mint, a lemon wedge or orange slices.
